This is to Dale in below comment. Thank you for sharing your story with us about Nigel. You are a much better person than I am. You can accept, forget, and forgive a criminal that committed a crime not once, not twice, but three, four, five, and six times. Yes a person can and will make a mistake; we all are but that mistake is unintentional and unpremediated with no intention to harm anyone in any way. A "mistake" is not an action to scam, fraud, cheat, deceit, and lie over and over again and not to one family but up to 6 or more families. You called that a MISTAKE? We are in Canada, we don't have to scam, fraud, cheat, deceit, and lie to put the roof on our shelter and food on table for our family. What he did was no different than a bank robbery. He robbed us in daylight. That's not a mistake, that is an act of criminal. Once again, you're a way better person than I am because I would never support and be friend with a criminal. Best of luck.

FYI
Edmonton Sun FRIDAY, OCTOBER 07, 2011 An Edmonton renovator who was the subject of a public warning for operating without a prepaid contracting licence was fined $10,000 Friday in Provincial Court. Nigel Paul Ryder, owner of Nu Renovations, pleaded guilty to four counts under the Fair Trading Act of engaging in business without a prepaid contractor’s licence. Court heard Ryder admitted that he entered into contracts to do renovation work on four occasions when he wasn’t licensed as a prepaid contractor. Court also heard that the four victims have obtained civil judgements against Ryder for a total amount of approximately $71,000 regarding the unfinished work. In May, the province warned Edmontonians not to contract work from Ryder as he was the subject of a criminal investigation and was facing charges under Alberta’s consumer protection law. The province’s Fair Trading Act states that contractors who take money up front and solicit or negotiate a job away from their normal place of business are required to obtain a prepaid contractor’s licence. Those interested in verifying contractors’ accreditation can visit servicealberta.gov.ab.ca or call the Consumer Contact Centre at 1-877-427-4088.

He owes me 4100 from a job December of 2010. I was told he had a stroke and was not able to sign the cheque. Never did receive my money. Not slander. Have emails from him to prove it. Karma.
