Due to the shortage of material on site, clean fill had to Land Development be imported to finish the grading. Phase one Large Excavations of the park consisted of grading 3 Soccer fields and a Storm Water Management Pond. Pumps were rented to keep the water level low enough to finish grading. Excavation of the Storm Water Management Pond was a challenge given the wet weather during the month of June. Construction of the New City Park in Burlington, Ontario started in May of Pit Stripping 2010. The grading was completed ahead of schedule allowing the servicing Golf Course Shaping contractor to start on time. A dozer equipped with GPS was used to shape the pond to the designed contour grade. Grading of phase 2 & 3 of this Ajax Landfill Work subdivision began in April 2010. Topsoil was stripped, lots and roads were graded to the designed pre-grade Horse Exercise Tracks
