If there’s room for a bit of the witty, the eclectic or the vintage, even better — just as long as the outcome is an elegant, functional space people enjoy coming home to. A graduate of Mount Royal College’s Interior Design program, Darren has worked as an in-house designer for Country Living and consultant at Kitchen and Bath Classics. Design is an organic process for Bruce, one of creative exploration with the client. Shayla knows that the best design solutions come from listening to — and hearing — her clients’ needs and expectations. Outside of work, she volunteers and travels extensively. Johnson & Associates is a versatile, agile group of design professionals located in Calgary. Nothing is more personal, more intimate than your home. He has a diploma in Architectural Technologies from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and more than ten years of interior design experience. Before joining Johnson & Associates in 2005, he ran his own design business. Bruce joined Johnson & Associates as a partner in 1999. You need it to fit your lifestyle. He enjoys incorporating clients’ ideas, life experiences and favourite possessions into the mix. You want it to tell a story. Nature, other cultures and her own clients are where Jill finds inspiration. Our team works with you to make sure your expectations are translated into interiors that are beautiful, functional and meaningful. Since earning her Architectural Technologies diploma from SAIT, Shayla has had many years of residential and commercial drafting and design experience. For us, the design process is a dialogue. Darren loves how a well-designed space transforms the way a person feels. From paint selection to renovations to new construction, we ensure a seamless process and rewarding experience. For Darren, timeless design isn’t static — he likes the energy a combination of different styles brings to a room. Shayla recently got much busier with the birth of her first child. With a background in fine arts and luxury retail, Bruce brings a strong sense of colour and composition to every project. Jill joined Johnson & Associates in 2008. Jill has an Interior Design diploma from Pacific Design Academy. And her biggest reward comes when all the meetings, drawings, selections and construction come together in a space the client loves. At Johnson & Associates Interior Design, we never forget that. Your story. Partnering with contractors, suppliers and trades who share our discriminating standards and values, we create professionally designed spaces that reflect your style, your life — you. We’re as dedicated to cultivating enduring relationships with our clients as we are to creating homes they feel deeply connected to. His client-driven approach makes that happen, resulting in interiors that balance luxury with comfort. Before joining Johnson & Associates in 2007, she was at the Art of Hardware. We don’t have any one signature style we impose on every space, and that’s the way we like it. She’s worked in trade-only showrooms and designed a cocktail lounge and condo complex
