Carney’s also manages waste and recycling facilities on behalf of local municipalities including Squamish Landfill, the Whistler and Pemberton Transfer Stations and the Whistler Compost Facility. Carney's Waste Systems has been named Bear Smart Business of the decade by the Whistler Bear Society for our continued efforts to bear-proof waste containment in the Sea to Sky corridor. 90% of the waste generated in the first three months from new construction is wood waste!. As our corridor develops and natural bear habitat are populated and developed, human/bear conflicts have increased.
